Just a reminder (or notice for those who missed class on Tuesday):
You will be quizzed on Chapters 11, 13, and 14 on the Thursday after Thanksgiving (Dec 3).
I realize that is a LOT, which is why I provided 12 pages of outlines for those chapters. If you were not in class Tuesday, try to find someone who was and get those outlines! If I can find a scanner, I will scan them for you.
See you next Tuesday...

Questions
Remember, if you didn't finish your four questions in class, finish them as homework. The questions are:
Foundations: Gender Questions
Directions: Answer the questions comparatively with analysis. For example: Women in Sub-Saharan Africa and Pre-Columbian America were in charge of economics in the marketplace. This is because in these matriarchal societies the women controlled the land and were thus in charge of those items produced from the land.
1.What part did women play in trade, business, or commercial activity?
2.What influence did a woman’s education have in determining job opportunities during this time period?
3.How would you characterize the difference in opportunities for elite and non-elite women?
4.How did women fit into the bureaucracy of these kingdoms or empires? Did this influence their political or legal rights?

Test Delay
If the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results, I'm clearly going nuts.
With that said, I'm going to try posting here anyway:
The test originally scheduled for tomorrow has been delayed. There are two important reasons for this:
1-I want you to get the Mental Map done, and done well.
2-I'm reasonably certain that most of you have completely forgotten that there WAS a test tomorrow.
TOMORROW: we will peer grade your in class essays. 2nd period, we will also peer grade your Snapshots.
One final note: I will have the new 6 week reading list for you tomorrow. If you have not yet gotten the week 1 reading (from the Bentley book), make sure you get it from me tomorrow.
Happy Mental Mapping!

EXTRA...;
....credit... yeah, that's right!
Read this article: "Inflation and the Fall of the Roman Empire"
Write a 2 paragraph response. A response that addresses the major idea(s) and ties in those ideas with other materials we've read in class will earn you 20 points of extra credit (that's almost one full homework grade).
